I sat down and talked with Angel Grave recently. We went over her background, including how she came to be involved in the adult industry, as well as her aspirations going forward. I found her to be over the top interesting! And I think her existing fans, as well as those who do not know of her yet, will also think she’s someone to pay attention to.

Like many others, Angel Grave’s early life was not easy. By age 18, she found herself married and trapped in a mentally abusive and controlling relationship. She says her days were consumed by homemaking and taking care of my children, with little room for anything else. When asked how she moved forward from that, Angel said, “It took until I was 30 to finally summon the courage to break free, even though I had nothing to my name—not even a pot to piss in. I had never driven a car, and without a driver’s license, car, or money, I made the bold decision to move to Florida.”

And even though Angel had taken back her freedom, she found herself starting my work later in life and finding employment proved to be an immense challenge, complicated by an ongoing struggle with manic depression.

So, Angel turned to alternative means of earning a living. “My first foray into sex work was selling used panties and making custom videos on a site called Pantydeal!” Angel laughed softly, “Surprisingly, I made a decent amount of money doing this for nine years. But as the site deteriorated, I had to switch gears, so I started driving for Uber and Lyft. When my car broke down, I was back to square one.”

At that point Angel thought, “I really want to do porn… but the real deal stuff!” But then she wondered, “How do I even do that?”

The answer was the same as every other answer in Angel’s life: If Angel Grave wants something bad enough, she finds a way to make it happen and doesn’t rely on anyone but herself.

So, three years ago, Angel embarked on her journey in the adult industry. She started playing around with her camera and producing legit pornographic content. Angel said, “Doing real sex stuff was so different than the little snippets I had done from selling panties. I found it to be much more in depth … no pun intended, Haha. It included my personality, what I wanted, just a lot of things other than what I was wearing.”

Interestingly, Angel did all this without having a single social media account.

Angel laughed, “I had no idea what Twitter was or any of that, and I had like, a zero-fan base. So, I dove headfirst into learning how to market the videos I had made. I attended many industry events like Exxxotica, AVN Show, and Xbiz, where I networked and connected with other professionals. I didn’t hesitate to reach out to potential collaborators, and though that, some really great performers agreed to shoot with me. I prefer to manage everything myself—self-booking, self-managing, directing, creating storylines, editing, and producing my content.”

Angel feels that by doing everything herself, she can be sure everything is up to her standards.

And now, in 2024 at age 52, Angel is still learning new tricks and continually honing her skills to make her production company, All Halo Productions, a well-known name in the industry. She came with the name on a whim, saying “My logo features angel wings and a halo, giving it a regal vibe, like “All Hail,” representing myself as a queen.”

Although the workload can be overwhelming, it hasn’t dampened my fiery passion to succeed in this industry.”

Fast forward to 2024 and XBiz Miami. And then, while flying to Miami and brainstorming for the shoots, Angel decided to make “Milf N Cookies” a continuing series.

Angel said it all worked out better than she had hoped for, “The Miami shoots became part of this series, with each video ranging from 11-25 minutes in length, with four videos shot at XBiz.” Angel described her process as including helping her co-stars, “I made it easier for two of the guys by editing the videos and creating promo clips for them to use. It helps them and in turn, helps me, which I think is a good way to do business.” Angel added that she, “Genuinely enjoys this work, and my editing skills have improved so much that I can now edit a video in as little as an hour if shot properly.”

The new scenes with Chris Goyco, InsaneXXX, and DCrush are due out on ManyVids and OnlyFans on May 31st. For her, those two platforms have been working well, and Angel said, “OnlyFans is pretty straightforward, and I enjoy the chat feature on there. But as far as videos go, it can be on OF or over at my ManyVids store.” She added with a wink that, “If anyone is curious as to what all the talk is about a GILF, and how hot us older gals can be, check me out.”

Steele The Spotlight: Tommy Gunn

I caught up with Tommy Gunn, veteran performer extraordinaire at the AVNs, and sat down with him for a quick chat.

Jim Steele – Here we go. All right, Tommy, we’re here at the AVNs 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Twenty years ago, you attended your very first AVN. In 2016, you got the Hall of Fame. And in between here and all that, you have accomplished just about everything there is to do. How does it feel after all this time? Do you still get goosebumps walking around these events with everybody knowing who you are and everything that you’ve done?

Tommy Gunn – You know, it’s definitely surreal. After 20 years, I walk around, and people treat me with such great kindness and support. And you know, I’m blown away. It’s wonderful. I hear quite a few people say, “I’ve been watching you since grade school!” And I’m like, “Wow, I guess that’s proof that I’ve been around for so long.” But it’s definitely flattering. It’s a good time.

Jim – You’ve touched a lot of people … literally and figuratively.

Tommy – Yeah, I’ve had multiple couples, and gentlemen, and women say, “My God, thank you for what you do. We love your stuff. And you’ve been such a part of our lives.” It’s fairy tale’ish, to be honest with you.

Jim – Did you ever expect that when you first started?

Tommy – No, not at all. I’m a very humble guy. In fact, sometimes I feel a little too modest and humble and I’m still not used to hearing all that. It’s a very different experience when they say things like that or give me praise. Still, I’m very appreciative of that.

Jim – So, speaking from the level of an industry pro and a veteran performer, what’s the number one piece of advice that you would give somebody who is just now starting out or thinking about starting out in the business?

Tommy – When people have asked me, “What can I do to succeed in this business?” My answer is to, “Show up.” And they’re like, “Well, what do you mean by that?”

But it’s easy, “Show up to work and be cordial and kind to your costars.” You really want to have a good rapport with the people you’re working with, because everyone wants to work with a guy who’s likable … not some egotistical guy who thinks he’s all that or whatever. That’s not a good look.

And then I’ll tack on, “Give a lot of thought to what you’re getting into because there’s repercussions. The sacrifices that you’ll make are huge and you are going to be leveraging a very personal and intimate part of yourself to this industry.” I’ll tell people to be careful with what you’re doing because it’s forever. What they put on film are choices that are going to affect their lives forever.

Jim – When you were starting out, who was one of the people that you really looked up to?

Tommy – Evan Stone was a big influence on me. He has always been so kind and welcoming. He was a really wonderful guy. You know, by the time I got in, he had been in the business quite a while, but he never showed me any kind of jealousy or any kind of weird vibes or anything. He’s just a genuinely nice guy who welcomed me in with open arms and gave me advice. And it might not have been only through spoken advice but was also through his actions and his work ethic. I can’t say enough good things about Evan. We are still very good friends to this day.

Jim – You’re up for a couple of nominations this year. They are in the VR category, and you’ve made a little toe hold there the last few years. Of course, you’re still shooting regular boy/girl scenes, but the VR is neat. How does it feel to know that after being active for so long, that you’re still a real favorite with the fans, and that you’ve still got what it takes?

Tommy – Again, it’s surreal. But it’s fantastic and it’s a great feeling. In a lot of ways, it just confirms my approach and my work ethic and the relationships I’ve had with the people in the business has been right approach. I’m very blessed.

Jim – So you’re what now … 56, going on 57? If a 50-something-year-old-guy came to you and said, “Hey man, what’s your secret? Spill the beans. How do stay looking so good and how do you have all this stamina?”

Tommy – It’s not really a secret. I don’t know if I was blessed with good genetics or what. My mother was half Asian, and my father was Italian, so that could be helpful. But it really has to do with how I conduct myself and leading a life that is health conscious. There are dietary and physical concerns. I try to treat myself like an athlete. Of course, I’ve had some dark times … In fact, in the years before I got into the business, there were some very difficult times. But I managed to get through that, and the adult industry in many ways gave me a target to focus on and work towards. And it gave me an opportunity to excel and be successful, as long as I put in the work and showed up.

Jim – Give me a little taste of what’s on the horizon for you in 2024. What are you looking forward to?

Tommy – I’m working on a few things, like a book and some other projects where I will be able to tell a story and not hold back. I really want to give people the actual point of view, and peel back the layers. I’m going to really expose myself and be vulnerable and just tell everybody, “You may see a particular type of person on the outside, but there’s a lot more facets of my life that my fans and even those in the business might not be aware of.”

So, with that, plus working full time, it’s going to be an interesting year.

Jim – I’m sure it’s going to be a hell of a journey and a story. You’re a fan favorite wherever you go at these shows. And I believe that you always will be because that’s just who you are. But speaking as a regular guy, if there was one word or phrase that people might think of when they see Tommy Gun, what would you hope that would be?

Tommy – I don’t know how to word that, but what I hear nowadays is, “Oh my God, you’re a legend. You’re the G.O.A.T.” They refer to me as the goat, which I didn’t know what that meant originally. I was like, “A Goat … well that’s strange.” But then I found out it meant “The Greatest of All Time” and I was like, “Oh, well that’s a nice thing! Haha.”

Jim – But take all that away. Take away fame, the business, and the industry. Tommy, the regular guy. What would you want or hope I might say about you if you could put one thought into my head.

Tommy – I would just hope that I could be as real as I could be, as authentic as I could be. I would hope to come across as a guy without any pretense. Like I’m just baring my soul and just showing everybody some vulnerability and to … I’d just want to be a real person. That’s it.

Jim – Sounds like a plan. We could use more real people, right? Thanks Tommy, have a good rest of your show. It’s always great to talk with you.

Steele The Spotlight: Nickey Huntsman

Jim Steele – I’m here with Nickey Huntsman this afternoon in beautiful Las Vegas, NV at the AVN Awards 2024. Nickey, you have really kicked things into high gear over 2022 and 23. And there’s a ton of great content on all your platforms … but if you had to have one scene that you could hold up, wave a flag and be like, “Okay, this one’s super hot. Don’t miss it!” What would that be?

Nickey Huntsman – Anyone Will Do with me and Rob Knox. That’s probably one of my favorites. It And that’s one that I created myself, along with your help and a few other people. But that one kicks ass, and I am so proud to have created it from start to finish.

As far as for studios that I’ve shot for, here recently I’d have to say Gilligan’s Island. That one was really cool. And I got to play Mary Anne.

Jim – That was Jim Powers who directed that, right?

Nickey – Yes. He did a wonderful job, and it was incredible. I got to fuck Gilligan and the Skipper!

Jim – Very nice. So, you’re up for a nomination this year, and it’s a big one. Mainstream Venture of the Year with Retro Knockout and Vanilla Gaming Company. What does all that mean to you?

Nickey – I’ve had a lot of nominations over the years at AVN, but I really care about this one because it’s for something that I actually created and not just a random category like Best Ass or Best tits. I’ve also had nominations for different things like best girl/girl, and those were very good in their own right, but this one took a lot of time, effort, and passion and it’s something that I absolutely love and care about. So, I really hope I win this one.

Jim – I’m with you! You’ve been working with Neil, who is the genius behind Vanilla Gaming, since the beginning of all this. Since then. He’s added on a couple more girls like Blake Blossom, Jewel De’Nyle, and Kiki D’Aire, but you’re like the OG, right?

Nickey – I am, and I’m planning to do as many games as possible. I vibe really well with Neil, so as long as he’ll have me, I’ll be in his projects.

Jim – It’s such a huge thing. To even get nominated for Mainstream Venture of The Year includes, not just the industry, but a lot of things outside The Valley, and that means more visibility and more opportunities. Right?

Nickey – Yes, that’s true. People that are doing TV shows, video games, spin offs, and music. Anybody who’s branching out outside of our industry can be nominated for this category. And I have some tough competition, but we’re the first people to ever have a video game quite like this and this is the first video game nominated in AVN history, and I’m the first porn star to be a playable character in a video game. So, I’m very optimistic!

Jim – They say the AVNs aren’t like a normal fan convention, that it’s more of an industry trade show, but the fans still come. I know from your streaming platforms that you’re always super friendly and enjoy those who follow you … So how busy has it been this week for fans with you?

Nickey – It’s been pretty busy. It’s been way better than last year when we were in the three separate ballrooms. Nobody could find me, and people were tweeting out, “Are you even here? I looked around for over two hours and couldn’t find you,” so being in the one tented area has been better this year.

Having said that, I have really enjoyed this year so far, but I’m not planning to be here tomorrow. Instead, I’m just going to be focusing on red carpet stuff and the award show. But … keep an eye out, I’ll be at other expos and conventions later on this year, so come out and see me!

Jim – Fair enough. It takes a minute to get all glammed up. So go for it. Get it done. After AVN, what can we expect to see next out of Nickey Huntsman in 2024?

Nickey – I’m going to be working a lot on live streaming, video games, and Ai projects. I currently have two different AI companies I’m working with, and I signed up for a bunch of other ones that I want to try to work with. So, I’m doing a lot of stuff with Ai and I’m also doing phone sex operations for Mynx, which is a new part of Sext Panther.

Jim – That’s awesome! And you’re still doing movies, so if someone wants to book you for a scene or for a photo shoot, you’re with 101 Modeling, correct?

Nickey – Absolutely! I’ve been with 101 Modeling since 2013, and I love it there. I guess they’ve had me for almost a decade and they take very good care of me.
